Talking Shift_EP03

Talking Shift with Peter Landan. Peter is a pillar amongst the Sydney car community. He can be found at most car meets around town, whether it's in his Kei truck at a cars and coffee or front and centre at GT-R Festival in his iconic Hakosuka. Many know Peter through his @downunderkyusha IG account, where his meticulous eye for preservation is reflected in an eclectic collection of Japanese and European icons.

Beyond the cars sits an incredible motorsport story. Before becoming a respected collector and conservator, Peter competed across open-wheel racing, production cars and Targa events, culminating in a place on the grid for the infamous 1994 Australian Cannonball Run in a Porsche 930.

In this episode of Talking Shift, Peter takes us back to one of Australia's most controversial motorsport events, sharing his firsthand experiences, the remarkable machinery that took part, and the lessons that have shaped a lifetime immersed in car culture. It's a fascinating conversation that explores the intersection of competition, mateship and the stories behind the cars that define an era.
